Call upon the name of Jesus, his name is a strong tower and refuge for those who need him. We all need him daily, even if we don’t seem to have an urgent need, we still should seek him for his love and grace.
If you are feeling lost and afraid, rest assured that Jesus is near. Call out to him. Jesus will never leave you.
“And the LORD, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.”
Deuteronomy 31:8 KJV
Call anytime
Sometimes we get caught up in the cares of the world. Too many things to fix and many needing our time and attention. It can seem that these are distractions and designed to keep us away from enjoying the presence of God.
It doesn’t matter what is happening in our lives we must put God at the center, and give him priority above everything else. It’s only then will we get the strength to deal with the other issues that are affecting our lives. Call Jesus anytime, he is always available.
Make it a lifestyle habit to call upon Jesus
Calling on the name of Jesus should be a lifestyle habit for every Christian. We should call him every day in every situation of our lives. Not only when we are facing trials and tribulations. Sin is dominant in the world and in order to stay holy we have to spend time in his presence calling upon his name.
God is holy and cannot look upon sin. We are of a sinful nature so should cry to him every day for mercy. He will hear and forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
The moment we become born again, we receive the free gift of salvation and also the right to call upon his name in all situations. When we call him, he gives us the desires of our hearts and the strength and grace to overcome our daily struggles and problems.
“And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
Acts 2:21 KJV
Don’t be afraid to call Jesus
Do not lose focus on him, keep your eyes fixed on Jesus and let the cares of the world grow dim. Do not be afraid, Jesus is with you.
Remember the story of Bartimaeus, he was born blind and needed a healer. When he heard Jesus was passing his way. He cried out with everything he had in him. It was not just his voice, but an inner need to get to Jesus. He knew Jesus was the only one that could give him sight. He did not care that the people around him, was telling him to shut up and be quiet.
“And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me.”
Mark 10:47 KJV
He called even more “Jesus thou son of David have mercy on me.” We should do the same when trials and problems attack cry, Jesus. Don’t listen to the voice of the enemy telling you to, “shut up, God will not hear you.” Know that he is listening, he said in his words that his ears are always open to our cries.
Call out to Jesus. His name is above every other name.
“Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:” “That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;” “And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
Philippians 2:9-11
Don’t let people or your situation prevent you from calling on the name of Jesus. Because your deliverance comes from him and him alone.
Jesus will answer you
Jesus will not turn his back; he will listen and answer when we call on his name. Just like he stopped and answered Bartimaeus and granted his request.
“And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called. And they call the blind man, saying unto him, Be of good comfort, rise; he calleth thee.” “And he, casting away his garment, rose, and came to Jesus.” “And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight.”“And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.”
Mark 10:49-52 KJV
We are the children of God and we have all authority to call upon the name of Jesus.
Jesus
He is still the Captain of the Ship
He is still the Pilot
He is still the healer
He is still the deliverer
He is still the burden bearer
He is still the problem solver
He is still the protector
He still sits high and looks low
He is still the Lamb of God
He is still the miracle worker
He is still the Alpha and Omega
What is man?
Like a grasshopper before the mighty Jehovah
Bow down and worship him
Repent of all sins
He will hear from heaven
And heal our land
He is still in control
Let Jesus be the center of your attention today by calling upon his name in sincerity.
Prayer to call upon the Lord
Dear heavenly Father, I come to you in Jesus’ name. Lord, I feel so weary and tired, so many problems coming from all directions. It’s hard to keep my focus on you.
