Whatever is happening in your life today, does not surprise God. He knows everything and he is working it out for your good and his glory. We all need God’s protection, from the devices of the enemy. Do not fear. Hold on to God, he’s got you covered.
Why do we need God’s protection? In these trying times when wars, rumors of wars and so much evil are around us, it is good to know that God has promised to protect us “There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.”(Psalms 91:10 KJV).
God is our refuge
Life is a struggle, we are all engaged in one battle or another. Assuredly, we do not fight against flesh and blood but, against principalities and powers in the spiritual realm, (See Ephesians 6:12). Satan, the devil is after our peace and our mind and his plans are to kill, steal and destroy. But God will keep us safe from the devil, he is a place of refuge and a strong tower from the enemy.
In order to stand against the fiery darts of the enemy, we must put on the whole armor of God. And be prepared to fight against the forces of darkness that might come up against us. We have to live righteously and do what is honorable and good in the sight of God.
The mighty God is our protector, he is strong and mighty and no power can prevail against him.
“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”
Psalms 46:1 KJV
God is our shield
It doesn’t matter what is happening and how hopeless things seem, keep your faith rooted and grounded in the word. The word will never fail you. There is nothing that your faith in God cannot do. So trust him to protect you from all harm and danger. God will be your shelter and protection from the storm. Let your light shine for God and let his light shine in you.
“For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.”
Psalms 5:12 KJV
Remember that he sees and knows everything. Read your bible and know what the word says about you and the covenant of protection that you have in Jesus.
“But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.”
Psalms 3:3 KJV
He is the mighty God, we can do nothing of ourselves. He will build a wall of protection around you and your family
God is our protector
God takes delight in protecting his people who call upon him for help. He will never let the enemy triumph over them. The children of Israel cried out to him when they were under Egyptian bondage and he sent Moses to deliver them from the hand of Pharaoh. Pharaoh let them go but decided to pursue them, and God protected them by destroying Pharaoh and his army in the red sea while allowing the children of Israel to cross over on dry land.
The bible compares the relationship we have with Jesus as a Shepherd and sheep. The sheep is very defenseless and helpless. They can easily be preyed upon by other animals. The shepherd will always look after the sheep and protect them from all harm and danger. It is the same with us God’s children. God will always protect us from all the schemes and actions of our enemies.
“The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.” (Psalms 23:1 KJV). God reassured us in Isaiah 40:11 and Ezekiel 34:11-16 that he is the Lord our God and he will protect us and care for us as a shepherd tends for its sheep. God sees everything and he knows the trials and storms that we face daily. He is just and able to defend us and keep us safe when we put our trust in him.
“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” “I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.”
Psalms 91:1-2 KJV
God is our shelter
If you are feeling helpless and unprotected, turn to Jesus, run into the shelter of the arms of the Most High God he will keep you safe, through the storm. Read Psalms 91 and cover yourself and your family under the precious blood of Jesus.
God protected Daniel when he was thrown in the lion’s den, he shut the mouths of the lions and saved Daniel. (See Daniel 6:20). Nebuchadnezzar commanded that the three Hebrew boys should be thrown in the fiery furnace because they refused to bow down and worship the golden image. But God, stood as the fourth man in the fire with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego so that the fire did not burn them.
“For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy.”
Psalms 61:3 KJV
Those who called upon the name of the Lord will be saved. (See Romans 10:13 KJV). If we call upon the name of the Lord he will be our shield and protection in times of trouble. He promises never to leave us nor forsake us. But he will be with us always even until the end of the age. (See Matthew 28:20).
God is our strong tower
We must know God and his Son Jesus in order to have divine protection. There is protection in the name of Jesus when we call upon him in faith and sincerity. He will fill our hearts with hope and peace when we turn to him for protection. Take refuge today under the shadow of his wings, he will cause you to soar like the eagle.
“The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.”
Proverbs 18:10 KJV
God protected Jesus from he was a baby in Mary’s womb so that the promise might be fulfilled. We know, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life,” (John 3:16 KJV). God’s protection is strong and he is able to keep you to fulfill your purpose here on this earth. Trust him today. You have life and life more abundantly in Jesus Christ.
Fight in the spirit
Having God’s protection means that you are secure in him. The battles are raging in the spiritual realm. We must walk according to the spirit, so we can fight and win. We fight by obeying the voice of God through his Holy Spirit and staying always in the presence of God. Often, we fight by engaging in prayer and fasting. In prayer we communicate with God and tell him of all we are going through. There is a great relief and confidence that he will hear and answer our prayers.
“This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.”
Galatians 5:16 KJV
He gives peace like none other, along with the strength to persevere and endure to the end. God has given us his word to be our light in this dark world. The Holy Ghost will guide us into his truth and we will enjoy his constant peace.
Protection is in God’s presence
Spend time with God; the more time you spend in his presence the more you will know him and believe his words. Stay in the shelter of the Most High God; where he can protect you, and keep you safe. Stay, where you can get direction for your life and instruction on what to do when you face the perils and storms. Allow the Holy Spirit to lead you. He knows the way to the father’s heart. Know that God is the protector, and your shield and defender.
Seek His face and call upon him, stay in his presence because in his presence is fullness of joy.
“Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.”
Psalms 16:11 KJV
And the joy of the Lord is your strength. (See Nehemiah 8:10). Keep your eyes on Jesus, do not look to the left or the right. If you feel discouraged and the enemy is attacking you, go to the word for help. Go to the stronghold. Take up your sword and your shield of faith it will stop the darts of the enemy. The strength that you need to stand firm against the attacks of the enemy is found in God. God will protect you from sickness, poverty, and all the dangers of life.
Trust the Lord with all your heart, mind, and soul; know that his goodness and mercy are surrounding you like a shield, today.
