Who are you in Christ? - Sweet Words of Life

Who are you in Christ?

Know your identity.

In Christ you are a born-again Believer, nothing about you is the same, as it was, before you gave your life to Jesus. God’s children are Spiritual beings with supernatural authority. The old you has been deactivated and a new you is born. Do not listen to people who want to redefine who you are. You must listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit who knows you and the great things God has in store for you. God is changing you and he is also changing your destination.

Your past and the people who influenced your life negatively must remain in the shadows. Do not allow them to rise up and dominate or change the person that God is now calling you to be. You might have been through hard times, fought tough battles, but that is still not who you are. You are a child of God and should know what he says about you.

What does God say about you?

You can achieve the perfection and status that God intended for you from the beginning of time. Rise up and take your place in society. God is speaking to you through his words. Listen to what he says about you;

You are a royal priesthood (1 Peter 2:9)

You are chosen (1 Peter 2:9)

You are loved (John 3:16)

You are forgiven and redeemed from sin and curse (Ephesians 1:7)

You are a joint heir with Jesus Christ (Romans 8:17)

You are free from condemnation (Romans 8:1)

You are the apple of His eye (Psalm 17:8)

You are an overcomer (Romans 12:21)

You are a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17)

Know that you are perfect in the eyes of God. You are fearfully and wonderfully made. He chose you to be part of his Kingdom. Rest assured that if you were the only one on this earth; Jesus would still have traveled Calvary’s dark road and gave his life for your sins. So that is how important you are to him. Why should you let anyone else tell you otherwise? You need to know God for yourself.

Step out in faith and shine your light in the darkness. You are a beacon of light, do not hide away in the dark. Shine for Christ so the world can see you and give glory to God. When Satan comes with his lies, lift your head high and declare:

I am no longer under sin but the grace of God is upon me.

I am free, Jesus does not hold my sins against me.

I am the righteousness of God in Christ.

I am more than a conqueror.

I am a child of God.

There is not another person who has the same characteristics as you. You are one of a kind. Just the way God intended. He didn’t want you to see yourself in someone else. See you, and be the best that you can be. Do not act as if you don’t matter. Your opinion of yourself is what will drive you to become successful.

God knows all about you, every little weakness, every big strength, and he wants you to use everything you have to honor and glorify him. Start today. Give him your all. Bring it all to Jesus; he will take you to the next level. Multiplication and blessing is his thing. He is the one who fed the multitude with five loaves and two fish. He is able to do mighty work when you give him your all.

When you lay your all on the altar, then the Holy Spirit will work in you and do the will of God. When the Holy Spirit lives in you, then you can do anything, and overcome any struggle. You can fight and win any and every battle. The Holy Spirit gives boldness and courage to persevere and endure through hard times.

You are a Royal Priesthood. The enemy wants you to lose focus and sight of who you are in Christ. His main goal is to make you feel broken, and not at the place that God intended you to be. If he can get you to doubt your God, then you will also doubt yourself. This is damaging because the bible says in James 1:8 “A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.”  If you are unsure of your identity, then you will be indecisive, unsettled; and can be easily swayed and bend in any direction. Stand firm in Christ.

You are blessed and highly favored. Now that you are a child of God. He has changed your name to, blessed, forgiven, and prosperous. Even if you do not feel blessed, know that you are. The blessings of Abraham are now yours, Blessed in the city, and blessed when you come in and when you go out. He promised you these blessings in Deuteronomy. He isn’t a God who will not make good on his promises. Whatever he promises you, must come to pass. He is a faithful God, always.

Walk with your head held high and repeat to yourself all the things God says about you. No need to doubt him either, because he is not a man so he cannot lie. Trust him and take him at his words.

No identity crisis

No more condemnation

Jesus shed his blood and paid the price so you can have eternal life. You are no longer under the curse of sin and condemnation. Jesus took it all. You are now righteous and justified by his precious blood. Do not doubt how important you are in the eyes of God.

Do not worry about what people are saying about you. People might tell you that you are nothing. Some might even say that you are a mistake, but what do they know. Their opinion of you isn’t really what matters. What matters is what God says. His words are the principle and blueprint that you should endeavor to live by. Love yourself, pamper yourself. See yourself through God’s loving eyes. He is looking down at you adoringly. Know that he wants to see you thrive. He wants to see you happy and building yourself up to where he says you should be.

You are a new creation. Sometimes we spend too much time listening to the views of others. They might be popular and seem to know what they are saying. They might even have evidence to show why we should follow their way but God’s way is the only way. If it is not how God says it, then it is not the way to go. Too many people get drawn away into confusion because they do not know who they are in Christ. Knowing is everything. Knowing what God says about you is crucial. You are a new creation.

God is able to change you and mold you to be more like him. His hands are magical and spectacular. He called Moses and equipped him for the mighty task of leading the children of Israel out of Egypt. He has a glorious destiny ahead, for you too. You can change the world with what he has planned. You already have the rod in your hands. He wants you to have faith and stretch it out over your circumstances.

You are loved. He is the King of love. No one can love you like the father. He sees everything about you, bad, good and ugly, yet he loves you the same. God would do anything and everything in his power to make sure you are alright. He gave his only begotten son that you can have eternal life. There is nothing that will ever separate you from his love. Isn’t it wonderful to know this?

Even when the people around you and the world turn their back on your God will never leave you. He didn’t let Joseph stay in the prison, why?  Because he had a great purpose for his life. Neither will he let you stay in the pit. He will put you out if you reach out to him. Cry out for help, he will hear your whisper.

You are free from guilt and sin. You might be in a mess, a rut, and a place that you feel like there is no hope. Jesus is reaching out to you. You might feel guilty, “But I got here by myself. Nobody forced me here.” That is not important. The fact is, you acknowledge that you are in a low place and want to get out. Jesus doesn’t hold records of your wrong. He just wants you to admit them, ask for forgiveness, and move on.

Nobody is perfect. We have all sinned and fallen short of God’s glory. No need to beat up yourself and cry about the happenings of the past. One day you will look back at your mess and say. “Thank you, Jesus, I know how far you have brought me from.” To God, those are ancient history. He sees you perfect, through the blood of Jesus. If only you could see yourself as he sees you.

You are created in the image of God. He wants you to worship and praise him because you were created for his pleasure and his glory.

You are an Overcomer. Life is a battle, arm yourself, put on the whole armor of God. Fights seem unending. The devil is always showing up with something else. As soon as you finish fighting one, most times he doesn’t give you time to rest. He fears that you might recuperate and get your strength back. He hits you again when you are down and will keep hitting. You have to learn to defend yourself. Don’t let your guard down. Be equipped, know the tactics of your enemy, and beat them at their game. You are a child of God and victory belongs to you in Jesus’ name.

Learn to fight, know your enemy. He is the devil and his plan is to kill, steal, and destroy. Build yourself up in Christ. Spend time in his presence, call on the Holy Ghost to help. Sometimes you must fight, other times you must be still and know that God will fight for you. The important thing is to know. You have to know when to fight, and when to be still. Oftentimes, people are still fighting when God is calling them to be still and let him fight for them.  Just know and believe that through Jesus Christ you have overcome the world.

How do you find your identity in Christ?

Get into alignment with his words, believe what he says and you will see the results in your life. Live the way he says you should live. Do not lower your standards for anything and anyone. You must stick to the word and follow it as your main guide. If you do not fully understand what is expected of you then take some time to read his words. The holy bible, it contains his words, which are your light and guide in this dark world.

God sees you, he knows everything about you. He knows the number of hairs on your head. He wants to have fellowship with you through his Holy Spirit. And he wants you to know him, so you can be more like him.

Go through the fire. You cannot always escape the fire. Sometimes you have to go through the fire but know that God will be with you. He said in Isaiah 43:2 “When thou walkest through the fire thou shalt not be burned.” He was with the three Hebrew boys in the fire, and he is the fourth man in your fire as well. Trust him today, you will come out stronger with more confidence in your God and no smell of smoke. Remember “No test, no testimony.” You cannot always avoid dealing with the issues that are designed to make you stronger and build a solid backbone. Be brave, he is protecting you.

Jesus will meet you at the point of your need. He is not a God who will stay far from you. He wants to be part of your everyday life. Spend some time with him today. He knows, but he wants you to come boldly to him and spill your all. Tell him what is happening in your marriage, speak to him about the things you don’t feel comfortable telling anyone else. He will never betray your trust. He sees every tear, he sees the sparrow not one fall without him knowing.

Build solid trust in God. He wants you to trust him with everything. He is not surprised by the balance in your bank account. Trust him with your finances, he is the one who gives the power to get wealth. He is waiting for you to bring everything to him in prayer.

You might not see the victory ahead but know that it is sure and secure. You feel like giving up because you see the armies surrounding you. If you feel outnumbered and can’t see a way out. God is for you and he is fighting for you. This battle did not catch him by surprise. He knows everything. You will win. Stop looking at the impossible and start telling yourself that I am a winner. The battle is already won.

Stand firm in your beliefs. Fight for the truth. You might be the only one in your family that can see the truth. They need you to break through the gloom and bring the light into their darkness. Don’t back down now, too much is at stake.

God is the one who is writing your story and he is just starting. There are many more chapters to come. Stories of your grain of mustard seed faith that moved the mountains. Stories of how you brought down your goliaths and cut off their heads. Many more stories of victory are in your future.

The enemy wants to keep you in the dark. He doesn’t want you to come to the knowledge of the power you possess in Christ. You cannot let him hijack your destiny. Get closer to God through prayer and fasting.

Your story is just beginning. You are taking your rightful place and declaring out loud to the devil. That he is defeated because you know who you are. Arise and shine your time has come.

Know that he is with you always. Even when you cannot feel his presence and you might think he is not there. He is right beside you, holding you up; preventing the enemy from triumphing over you. You just need to know he is there. You cannot hide from his presence.  He is everywhere, his unseen eyes are watching your every move. Know that he is never far.

He is a God who will leave the 99 and go look for the one. He will search the ends of the earth to find the lost sheep. That’s how awesome your God is. He is working in your life. Some of the things are so small that you don’t even recognize that it is his doing.  While others are mighty miracles that you can’t help but say “It’s only God.”

Never look back. Sometimes when you are going through the waters and the fire you can’t see God anywhere and you assume he left you. Then you reach safely to the other side and you know without a doubt that he was the one holding you up. If he wasn’t, there is a strong possibility, that the waters would have swallowed you up and you would have been burnt to ashes.

Praise Him for all the fire and flood he brought you through. You have seen his blessings and mercy, even if you fail to appreciate and recognize them.

You are heading for success, the road is rocky and rough, but you will get there if you stand firm on God’s word concerning you. Move forward always, never look back.

KNOW WHO YOU ARE IN CHRIST. YOU ARE WHO HE SAYS YOU ARE.

Reassure yourself, say these out loud every day;

I am a child of God and the temple of the Holy Spirit.

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

I am loved by the King of Love and I am seated with Him in heavenly places.

I am washed in the blood of Jesus and free from all condemnations.

I am a friend of God and joint-heir with Jesus.

I am a new creation.

I am the righteousness of God in Christ.

I am the light of the world.

I am no longer under a curse.

I am free.

Prayer to know who you are in Christ

Dear Heavenly Father, I thank you that you are loving and kind. Thank you for sending Jesus to die on the cross for my sins. I know I have eternal life in him. Father, please help me to know my identity in Christ. I want to live and be more like you each day. Give me the grace to run this race, with confidence in you and the Holy Ghost. Father, please let me stand firm in my belief. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
